Application process

If you would like to apply to the Summer School, please ensure that you have first read and understood our Terms and Conditions.

How to apply:

  1. Complete and submit an initial application form on our website.
  2. When you submit this application you should get an automatic email from us. Please follow the instructions from the email.
  3. At this stage we are receiving a large volume of speculative applications. In order to process your application and reserve your place, you are expected to pay a deposit at this point: £250 (for credit courses) or £125 (for non-credit courses), inclusive of a non-refundable £50 application fee. The deposit payment will count towards your Summer School package payment. Ways of making payment are detailed here. (Only pay the deposit if your chosen course is listed as available on our website).
  4. Once you have paid the deposit, we will send you a link to the full Summer School application form. Please allow us a few days to do so whilst we check transactions with our Finance Department (if you would like to speed this up, please drop us an email saying you have paid the deposit).
  5. Fill in the application form. This should take around 5 minutes to complete and will give us all the information we need to book your place on your chosen courses, and to reserve any University of Edinburgh accommodation you have requested. Upload any supporting documentation required to support your application via our secure Dropbox (link is in an email from us after deposit payment has been made). Pease make sure that the documents are clearly labelled with your name. Please do not upload more than is asked for, as this slows your application down.
  6. An email will be sent to confirm the receipt of your application and you will be prompted to provide any information/evidence which remains outstanding at this time.
  7. If your application meets our requirements, you will be issued with a booking confirmation letter.
  8. After March you will be issued with an unconditional offer to study at the Summer School, and, shortly after, you will be invoiced for the balance of your fees. We ask that you pay this invoice as soon as possible. Full payment must be received 30 days prior to your booking start date. Please do not make any travel arrangement before you receive information from us that your course is running and your place is secured.

If there is not a suitable place for you at the Summer School, you will be notified as soon as possible.

The University of Edinburgh Summer School guarantees accommodation to all students who book their place by the March 31 2018. After this date accommodation might not be available and you may have to find accommodation for yourself.
