Key Information


Preparing for University is designed as a two-week residential course. The course will take place from Monday 23rd July to Friday 3rd August 2018. 


The total cost for the Preparing for University course is to be confirmed.

This fee includes:

  • Tuition fees for the two-week course
  • Catered accommodation in single study bedrooms (breakfast and dinner included)
  • Course materials and equipment
  • Academic trips and excursions
  • Social programme including evening and cultural events
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off at Edinburgh International Airport

Additional fees may apply for visa applications. These are not directly payable to the Summer School.

In order to secure their offered course place, students will be required to provide a deposit payment of £125, inclusive of a non-refundable £50 application fee. The deposit payment will be redeemable against count towards your Summer School package payment. Ways of making payment are detailed here.



Parents are responsible for making the travel arrangements for students to reach Edinburgh.

Residential students

Students should arrive in Edinburgh on Saturday 21st July 2018. All students will be met by a member of the Summer School team at Edinburgh International Airport and will be accompanied to their University accommodation.

Non-residential students

Non-residential students should arrive at the University of Edinburgh. Information about the induction venue will be communicated to the students ahead of the course start date.
